Application of multi-criteria decision making models to forest fire management

The study of the effective factors for forest fire prevention policy can help to reduce long term extensive environmental damage. In other words, management is result a complex interaction many criteria. present aims analyze most criteria Arasbaran forest, Iran, based on Technique Order Performance by Similarity Ideal Solution (TOPSIS) and Simple Additive Weighting (SAW) methods. five top optimal selection TOPSIS method identified that, “association cooperation between executive responsible institutions” ranked highest (CCi + =0.85). “Lack deterrence law in dealing with offenders human-caused fires” has second rank = 0.84), followed up-to-date scientific information susceptible areas region”, “Increasing NGOs increase public trust”, road network access ignite regions” 0.789, 0.787, 0.77, respectively). resulting from SAW showed that “Local people participations” provided score (FS 0.39), institutions non-governmental organizations (NGOs), “increasing trust” 0.36), “Raising awareness position natural resources among local peoples attracting their cooperation” 0.35), “Optimal use past experiences” 0.34). From these results, we find collaboration major requisite successful management, should be done parallel involvement actors combined synergistic bottom-up top-down approach. We suggest impact ecological occurrence spread fires (as complementary factors) investigated demonstrate best comprehensive strategies future studies.
